Career Path and Salary
Selected candidates will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenants with an initial gross salary starting from approximately ₹1,10,000 per month along with various allowances. The compensation package includes basic pay, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance, and other naval-specific allowances. Officers are covered under the Naval Group Insurance Scheme (NGIS) providing insurance coverage during service and post-retirement. The Short Service Commission is initially granted for 12 years, extendable by a maximum of 2 years subject to service requirements, performance, medical eligibility, and willingness of the candidate. After completion of the commission, officers may have opportunities for permanent commission based on performance and service requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for this recruitment vary according to the posts, such as educational qualifications and age limits. Post-wise age limits are given in the vacancy table. - NAIC: BE/B.Tech in specified streams or PG in Electronics/Physics.

- Education Branch: MSc/BE/B.Tech/MTech in specified subjects with 60% marks.

Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in their qualifying degree, which will be normalized using the formula mentioned on the Join Indian Navy official website. Shortlisted candidates will be informed for the SSB interview through their email ID or SMS. Then, selected candidates will be called for a medical examination as mentioned in the official notification. We have provided all the stages of the selection process below.
