NICL AO Recruitment 2025: National Insurance Company Limited (A Govt. of India Undertaking) invites applications for recruitment of 266 Administrative Officers (Generalists & Specialists) in Scale I cadre from open market. We know that NICL is a government-owned public sector insurance company. Its headquarters are in Kolkata, and it is administered by the Ministry of Finance. NICL AO Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality:
- Citizen of India, or
- Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan 1962, or
- Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries
- Age Limit (as on 01.05.2025):
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 30 years
- Age relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per rules
- NICL AO Educational Qualification:
- Doctors (MBBS): MBBS/MD/MS or equivalent with valid registration
- Legal: Graduate/Post Graduate in Law with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)
- Finance: CA/ICWA or B.Com/M.Com with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)
- IT: B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in CS/IT or MCA with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)
- Automobile Engineering: B.E/B.Tech in Automobile Engg or Engg with Diploma in Automobile Engg
- Generalist: Graduate/Post Graduate in any stream with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST)
- Application Fee:
- SC/ST/PwBD: ₹250 (Intimation charges only)
- Others: ₹1000 (Application fee + Intimation charges)
NICL AO Selection Process
- Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
- English Language (30 questions, 30 marks, 20 mins)
- Reasoning Ability (35 questions, 35 marks, 20 mins)
- Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions, 35 marks, 20 mins)
- Total: 100 marks, 60 minutes
- Phase-II: Main Examination (Online)
- Objective Test (250 marks, 3 hours):
- Generalists: Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude
- Specialists: Above subjects + Technical paper in relevant discipline
- Descriptive Test (30 marks, 30 mins): English (Essay, Précis, Comprehension)
- Objective Test (250 marks, 3 hours):
- Interview (Weightage: 20% of final score)
- Final Selection: Based on combined score of Main Exam (80%) and Interview (20%)
Note: There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in objective tests.

- Probation: 1 year (extendable up to 2 years)
