Eligibility Criteria for IAF Medical Assistant Airmen Recruitment

Education Qualification:

  • 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
  • OR Two years’ Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
  • For Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy candidates: Intermediate/10+2 with PCB & English (50% marks) plus Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy (50% marks) with valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or PCI.

Age Limit (as on date of enrolment):

  • For 10+2 candidates: Unmarried, born between 02 July 2005 and 02 July 2009 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit: 21 years.
  • For Diploma/B.Sc Pharmacy candidates: Unmarried - born between 02 July 2002 and 02 July 2007; Married - born between 02 July 2002 and 02 July 2005. Upper age limit: 24 years.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates must go through the Indian Air Force (IAF) selection process as mentioned in the official notification to join as Medical Assistant Airmen. The selection process consists of three phases: an online test, a physical test, and a medical examination. Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards prescribed by the Indian Air Force. Exam Pattern

Phase-I Online Test:

  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Subjects: English (CBSE 10+2 syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)
  • Marking: +1 for correct, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answer

IAF Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

  • 1.6 Km run: Within 7 minutes (for ≤21 years) or 7 minutes 30 seconds (>21 years)
  • 10 Push-ups: 1 minute
  • 10 Sit-ups: 1 minute
  • 20 Squats: 1 minute

IAF Physical Standards

  • Height: Minimum 152 cm
  • Chest: Minimum 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age

IAF Medical Standards for Medical Assistant

  • Hearing: Normal (able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters)
  • Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, minimum 14 dental points
  • Vision: Maximum refractive error +3.50D (including astigmatism), 6/36 correctable to 6/6, CP-II color vision
  • General Health: Free from any medical/surgical disability or communicable diseases
  • No history of LASIK/PRK surgery
